Our neighbor, Dr. Robert Krause, has many beautiful plants for sale
Dr. Krause is retired and his hobby for the past several years has been growing tropical plants. He has decided to scale back on his collection and, as a result, will be selling a wide variety of plants. This includes Plumerias, Gingers, Passion Vines, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Pear, Cereus, Cannas, Cestrum, Mountain Laurel, Jasmines (4 varieties), Peace Lily, Aspidistra, Wine Cups, Manfreda, Tuberose, Angel Trumpet, Rain Lily, Mint, Pennyroyal, Honeysuckle, Wisteria, Yellow Flag and Blue Flag Iris. He is an expert on these plants and can provide all manner of advice on how to grow them. Many of these are frost-hardy plants. He also has some seeds and can do custom growing. Restore the Appearance of Green Metal Edging
Many homes in our community have old metal edging that has turned rusty and unattractive. Replacing the edging with new green metal edging costs about $10 per foot if you do it yourself, or about $20 per foot if you pay to have it done. For about $15, you can purchase a paint that encapsulates the rust, prevents further deterioration and returns the edging to a new look. It is called Hammerite Rust Cap and it is available at Elliott's Hardware for about $15 per quart. A quart is enough to do all of the edging in most yards. You brush it on and it takes a couple of hours to do all of the edging. Use the dark green color. It matches the original green color of the edging almost perfectly.
